My canine vaccine protocol
I have adapted all my puppies on the follow vaccination schedule after much research and through my past puppies experience with vaccine reaction. This is the optimal schedule I use for my puppies.
NOTE:
*This schedule is for normal puppies that received their first colostrums (first milk) that is rich in antibodies through their mother’s milk. This natural protection can last 8 – 14 weeks. Puppies & kittens should NOT be vaccinated at LESS than 8 weeks. Maternal immunity will neutralize the vaccine and little protection (0-38%) will be produced. Vaccination at 6 weeks will, however, delay the timing of the first highly effective vaccine. Vaccinations given 2 weeks apart suppress rather than stimulate the immune system!
**If puppies were born without it due to c-section or hand raised puppies then they should receive their vaccine at an earlier schedule.
*DO NOT give small toy breeds shots containing LEPTO component during 1st year!
** DO NOT give rabie shot within 2 weeks of any other shots.
2nd YEAR basic vaccine schedule:
* DE-worming yearly
* Rabie - the date from last year's shot
Rest of the dog's life vaccine schedule:
* EVERY 3 year after 2nd year Combo up until dog is 8 years old
* EVERY 3 years on rabie after the 2nd year
